New Name, New Logo, New Brand Revealed Today At a Celebration Event

Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice: A New Name for a Legacy of Compassionate Care

OTTAWA, ON., April 12, 2024 –  Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, formerly known as Roger Neilson House, today announced a new name and a new brand, reflecting a legacy of compassionate care and leadership in children’s hospice palliative care. Since 2006, the organization has been serving families in Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and Nunavut, setting the standard for quality and family-centered care in pediatric palliative care.

Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe was on hand for today’s brand reveal. He said, “Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice holds a unique and invaluable position in our community, providing compassionate and specialized care to children and families facing life-limiting illnesses. The services delivered by the hospice are not only essential but also deeply impactful, offering solace, strength, and support during some of the most challenging times families may face.”

The new brand builds on the organization’s original name in honour of NHL Hockey Hall of Fame Coach Roger Neilson, who was renowned for his compassionate spirit as a coach of the Ottawa Senators and includes a new logo that reflects the Hospice’s continuing relationship with the Ottawa Senators.

Chris Neil, former Ottawa Senator and close friend of Roger Neilson took part in today’s brand reveal. He said: “Roger Neilson was not only a Hall of Fame coach but also a compassionate mentor who believed in nurturing young talent both on and off the ice. This philosophy resonates deeply with the mission of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, and I’m honoured to see his name continue to make a difference in the lives of children and families facing life-limiting illnesses.”
