Board Committees

  • Executive Committee

    The Executive Committee acts for the Board on regular administrative matters of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice. It ensures processes are in place for Board education and reviews actions taken under the strategic directions.

  • Quality Management Committee

    Supports and reviews the development and sustainability of a pediatric palliative care quality management system to ensure consistently and continually improving service for Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice guests and their families.

  • Communications Committee

    Ensures effective, strategic and clear messages are regularly delivered to the public and media about Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice. Develops key policies around communication and advises the Board Chair and Executive Director on communication in particular situations, such as emergencies.

  • Finance & Audit Committee

    Oversees financial reporting process, the systems of internal controls over financial reporting, the audit process, and the Hospice’s process for monitoring compliance with laws and regulations. Provides governance and guidance on strategic, operating, capital, financial and investment decisions.

  • Human Resources & Governance Committee

    Provide advice to the Board of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice under its obligations relating to human resources, including succession planning and strategies and actions required to ensure the effective governance of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.

  • Family Advisory Committee

    Knowing what our families think, feel and hope for is incredibly important to our work.

    Our Family Advisory Committee ensures the voices of families and patients are front and centre. This active and collaborative committee allows families to share their views regarding services, providing regular communication for families, the board, management, and staff.

  • Volunteer Advisory Committee

    The central purpose of the Volunteer Advisory Committee is to connect volunteers to the staff and leadership team at Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, enhancing the volunteer experience. This key committee allows volunteers to add their voices and opinions to topics such as training, support, recognition, and more.
